Advanced Maritime Technology International - ENVGO's NV1 Brings Aerospace Flight Control to Electric Hydrofoiling

ENVGO Logo

ENVGO, a Waterloo, Ontario company founded by former Aeryon Labs drone engineers, has built the NV1 — a 7.6m all-electric hydrofoiling boat that hits roughly 43 knots and 54 nautical miles of range on an 83kWh battery. The vessel uses computer-controlled T-foils and an AI-driven flight control system, adapted from the founders' UAV background, to automatically stabilize the ride and retract the foils for docking or shallow water. Featured in Advanced Maritime Technology International after debuting at the 2026 Toronto International Boat Show, the NV1 is pitched as a premium showcase for ENVGO's underlying technology rather than just a standalone product. The company says hydrofoiling delivers roughly four times the energy efficiency of a conventional hull and plans to extend its flight-control tech to commercial ferries, defense, and offshore-support vessels.
