CTV NEWS - Sustainable showcase in Orillia to feature the future of boating

ENVGO is bringing its all-electric hydrofoil prototype, the NV1, to the Sustainable Orillia Green Innovation Showcase on Lake Couchiching this weekend. CEO Mike Peasgood explained the boat's underwater wing lifts the hull above the surface, delivering the efficiency needed to make electric boating genuinely practical, not just eco-friendly. The showcase, running July 26–27, will feature more than 60 electric vehicles alongside a fleet of EV boats, including vessels from companies like M-Oceans, whose founder says the entire boating industry — from dinghies to sailboats to larger powerboats — is shifting toward electrification. Organizer Danny Epstein hopes the free, family-friendly event helps attendees grasp the broader stakes of sustainability and the limits of unchecked growth.
